John Chandler
John Chandler joined the Nancy Chandler Associates management team in July 2005, after a distinguished career in the United States Navy.
As Chief Operating Officer (COO), he directs all sales support operations at Nancy Chandler Associates including finance, information technology, marketing, human resources and facilities. A licensed Real Estate Broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia, he is also qualified as a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB).
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Mr. Chandler graduated from Norfolk Academy and then from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. He entered the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and served aboard seven ships, commanding three of them. He also served at several afloat and shore staffs including the Joint Staff, Bureau of Naval Personnel and the Chief of Naval Operations staffs in Washington. He graduated from the National War College in Washington with a Master of Science Degree in National Security Strategy. He retired from the Navy at the rank of Captain in 2005.
Mr. Chandler is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, the Virginia Association of REALTORS®, the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association, the Economics Club of Hampton Roads and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation / Schooner Virginia and as Senior Warden of the Vestry at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk. Mr. Chandler also serves as Treasurer of the Statewide Board of Directors for the Virginia Opera Association, in addition to chairing the Opera’s Finance Committee and serving on the Executive Committee.
